First, unplug it and check the main switch underneath is on. A rechargeable Tranquil does nothing while it is charging.

The cry sensor does not restart it
The sensor only works after the Tranquil has switched itself off at the end of the timer. If you switch it off with the power button, the sensor switches off too — turn the main switch off and on again to reset it.
